You’re Grounded (sorry)
You know what’s interesting? Almost every plane ever built is about 90% the same in terms of design and engineering. It makes sense because flight is incredibly difficult to achieve and for the most part it’s going to be the same process that can achieve it.
So what does this have to do with your content? Well how do you expect to get off the ground when you’re not using any of the principles of flight. Succeeding on social media is a very difficult thing to do from scratch, but just like flight there’s a lot of similarity between the people who can achieve it.
The hard truth is; Social media is a science more than it is an art.
That doesn’t mean you can’t be creative, but 90% of your success relies on principles & the other 10% is in how you wield those principles. A lot of people dislike this way of thinking because they feel it goes against the “creation” side of content creation. But here’s the thing, you can do a lot with that 10%, and for a lot people it stands out the most.
If I were to show you 2 planes, one that was grey and boring & another that’s bright pink & has barbie designs all over, you’d probably say they looked completely different. But the engineer or a pilot would understand that both operate the same way. It’s the same in content, others may only notice the art of it but it’s our job as “professionals” to know how it works.

What is the Science:
The science behind content creation is in your hooks and your structures, it’s simple but there’s a ton of depth to each of those subjects.
Understanding good Hooks & structures, means studying what’s worked for others then trying it out yourself. You then take your freshly posted content & see what strategies worked best for you & your goals. Then you just repeat the process until the results speak for themselves.
In other words, this is the exact process of an experiment.
To have a better chance of succeeding, all you need is enough data to know what works. And to get more data you have to do what? POST MORE CONTENT. Sorry for yelling, but It all comes back to that. However this frame helps to take the pressure off of each post. It’s not a representation of your worth, it’s just an experiment. I’ve gotten to a point where I can pretty accurately predict what content will do pretty well, and when I can’t It’s because I’m experimenting to find a new winning formula.
Follow the examples before you to get yourself off the ground. Once you’re in the air, you’ll have a lot more freedom. But just like most flying objects, the thing you need for launch is speed, and the right vehicle.
